The team

Faure Wine Farms began as a family run concern; however its success has required expansion of the management team. Directors Johann and Albie Faure are still very involved in the strategic and operational aspects of the business. They have also drawn on the expertise of Adriaan van Tubbergh and have appointed three production managers to run the operational aspects of the farm. The vision of Faure Wine Farms is to produce premium quality grapes through optimising the unique terroir with assistance from those who work there. Development of the staff is as vital to the process as are the natural resources. This approach has paid dividends, with people taking pride in their work and surroundings. An initiative from the workforce was to plant flower beds between the vineyard blocks!

Johann and Albie Faure

Johann and Albie have a strong philosophy relating to their farm.

"In an industry where there is so much mediocrity and replication of systems between producers, we at Faure Wine Farms aim to produce the highest quality grapes for the top wines of the world. We endeavour to maximise the returns from our crops for the benefit of all the people involved. We strive to utilise our terroir and location to the optimum. This involves continual analysis of systems, improvements in farming technology and selection of cultivars. This meticulous approach allows us to maintain our market edge."

Adriaan van Tubbergh

Adriaan joined the team in 1999. His roots lie in the grape industry, having spent his childhood on a table grape farm in the Hex River Valley, then moving to a wine farm in the Worcester area. He came to grips with the scientific and business aspects of the industry at Stellenbosch University, attaining a degree in Viticulture and Management, with Honours in Business Psychology. After completing his degrees, he worked as a technical adviser for the Deciduous Fruit Board whereafter he spent 10 years as a private consultant in the table grape industry, both in South Africa and Namibia. His experience and skills have brought new depth to what was originally a family run business.

Production Managers

Clifford Hendriks and Dennis Ohlson both grew up on Faure Wine Farms, and each have over 20 years service in the vineyards. They are true success stories, having worked their way up through the ranks on the farm, and know the lands and their unique qualities well. Faure Wine Farms has a policy of empowering and educating their staff, and both Clifford and Dennis have undergone extensive leadership, management, computer and cash flow management courses, and are amply equipped for the work at hand. Coetzee Wium began working on Faure Wine Farms after completing his diploma. Coupled with his knowledge of the vineyards is his passion for sport. His talent and focus have been put to good use, as he will be representing South Africa in the Paralympics this year, having been placed first in Africa for powerlifting.
